Iris Pierce

Math Specialist/ 504 Campus Coordinator/ Campus IT

My name is Iris Pierce. I am the Math Specialist, Campus 504 Coordinator, and Campus IT at Premier High School in Lubbock, Texas. I graduated from High School in the small town of Grandfalls, Texas. When I moved to Lubbock to attend South Plains College I was still unsure of what I wanted to study. I obtained my Associates Degrees in General Studies and General Science so that I would have a good foundation for anything I wanted to do. As I moved on to Lubbock Christian University I became fascinated with the behavioral sciences especially in the aspect of criminal profiling. In 2012, graduating Magna Cum Laude and as part of the Honors Program, I received a Bachelors of Humanities with a specialization in Criminal Justice. Throughout my schooling I have had many teachers that positively impacted my love of learning and questioning the world. I wanted to be like them and inspire young mind to become lifelong learners. My life took a turn into the field of Special Education when my nephew was diagnosed with Autism. This is where I found my passion. I received my Masters of Arts in Special Education from LCU in 2016. I have worked as a teacher at Premier High School for 2 years and am loving every minute of it.
